Always make sure they have eaten something the night before and the morning of the operation
Never starve your rabbit before a dental or any other operation
Day of dental – take a little pack lunch of your rabbits favourite foods and hay with you to help encourage your rabbit to eat when they come round from the anaesthetic
While waiting for your rabbit to be admitted for a dental, you could grate some vegetables for them to make it easier for them to eat or syringe feed some of their pellets mashed up in warm water.
If you see wet fur at the side of their mouth like they have been dribbling, it is likely to be a sign of dental problems.
If your rabbit is grinding their teeth loudly they are in pain so see a vet asap.
Infacol can help break a blockage down and helps with hairball blockages too
Infacol will help a rabbit suffering from gas, bloat or GI Stasis. Give your rabbit 1ml of Infacol per hour for first 3 hours and then 1ml every 3 – 8 hours after.
Recovery from GI Stasis is gradual. It may be days or weeks before droppings are back to normal again.
Whenever possible give your rabbit medications whilst at home as there they will feel calm and safe.
